Though it doesn't happen often, sometimes an animal develops a little bit later than their peers and surprises us. In CCNF Angiolo's case though, he sort of came screaming at us out of left field! Angiolo had spent the spring of 2017 on the periphery of our show teams, never quite making the final roster cut but by that fall, as that next fleece started to show itself, the tide had turned and by the spring of 2018 his was in fact one of the more advanced fleeces on entire our Futurity show string. We will let the simple fact that we are breeding him regularly this summer -- at the decidedly tender age of just 20 month old no less -- in our program speak for itself. Angiolo is a Matrix Majesty/Archangel/SuperNova/Pachelbel cross and while his ascension to Herdsire status caught us by surprise, it really shouldn't have. His two full older sisters, Antebellum and Bellina were knockouts in their own rights (their dam, Bellisima, is bred for version 5.0 right now after giving birth to yet another daughter, Bellicosa, last fall) and we are very familiar with the bloodlines that flow through this boy's veins going right back to the origins our farm's breeding program starting over 18 years ago, when his great grandam, Sunrise Alpine, and great-great grandam, Savannah, first joined the fray. His stuff runs deep and true. As of October 2023, Angiolo is again fully owned by us here CCNF (he previously was shared with a ranch in Texas) and will be living here year-round. As his crias born earlier this year clearly demonstrate, he still has some valuable work to do here in our program. Welcome home, son.
